MANAGEMENT OF THE ORGANIZAITON


NEDS is governed, managed and controlled by an Executive Committee consisting of 7 members including 4 office bearers. The members of the Executive Committee are elected from among the general members every five years interval. The Executive Committee, the main decision-making platform of the Organization, is represented by the Social Workers, lawyer, business men, house wives and the rural men & women belonging to low socio-economic condition. More than 1/3rd members of the executive body belong to SC & ST communities coming from very low socio-economic strata. Any important decision is taken by majority vote in the meeting of the Executive Committee. Besides, there is a General Body represented by 196 members. The Executive Committee sometimes forms different Monitoring Cells and Bodies for the supervision of different projects and activities. There are also different staffs for special programs. TARGET AREA :
The slum areas in urban locations and the backward villages in the entire region of North east is the target area of operation of NEDS. But NEDS is at present working at 200 backward villages in 23 blocks in the Barak valley i.e., Cachar,Hailkandi and Karimganj Districts of Assam.

TARGET GROUPS :
  • Women belonging to BPL families.
  • Women deserted by their husbands.
  • Distressed widows.
  • Single women & other socially excluded women.
  • Orphans, children of poor families, children of women deserted by their husbandís, street children and other vulnerable children.
  • Girl children & child labour.
  • Marginal farmers.
  • Landless labourers.
  • BPL families.
  • People belonging to SC, ST, OBC and minority communities.
  • Unemployed Youth.
  • Physically challenged people.
  • Other socially excluded people.

  • The organization is having possession right over 44 acres of land under Borkhola block of Cachar district
  • The Organisation is having one four-wheeler & three two-wheelers
  • The Organisation is having one computer and two printers

MANAGEMENT OF FINANCE OF THE ORGANIZATION :
The finances of the organization are managed by 1 Accountant with the help of 1 Accounts Clerk, 1 Cashier and 1 Assistant. The Accounts of the organization are properly maintained in accurate Accounting System. The accounts of the organization are annually audited by the Registered Chartered Accountants. The Accountant is the overall in charge for the financial management and maintaining accounts of the Organization. He works under the overall supervision of the Chief functionary and other executive members of the organization. There is a finance committee which is for the monitoring of the accounts of the organization.
