Experience In The Field Of Adult Education & Vocational Training
ADULT EDUCATION CENTERS
For the last 3 years NEDS has been running 8 adult education centers in
Barak valley in Assam. NEDS has been running 2 adult education centers
in Karimganj district, 2 centers in Halaikandi district & 4 centers in Cachar
in Barak valley in Assam. Each center is managed by 1 education
volunteer. The roll-strength of each center is 30. Each year 120 adult men
and women belonging to low socio-economic condition are being literate
from each center.
NON-FORMAL EDUCATION CENTERS
NEDS has been running 5 non-formal education centers in Barak valley in
Assam. NEDS has been running 3 NFE centers in Cacher district & 2
centers in Karimganj district in Assam. Without getting any funds from any
sources these centers are being run from the own resources of NEDS.
EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR THE SCHOOL DROP-OUT
NEDS has been running 2 coaching centers for the school drop-outs in
Cachar district in Assam from its own resources.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM
With a view to creating employment opportunity for the non-literate and
new-literate NEDS has been running vocational training centers in Cachar
district in Assam. The vocational training center mainly provides training
facilities to the non-literate and new-literate in tailoring, bamboo craft &
handloom. The programs conducted by the organization are depicted
below
1) TRAINING PROGRAM IN TAILORING
During the year 2011-2012 NEDS has provided training facilities to 43 poor
women belonging to SC & minority communities in tailoring.
2) TRAINING PROGRAM IN HANDLOOM
During the year 2011-2012 NEDS has provided training facilities to 33 nonliterate & new-literate people belonging to SC & minority communities in
handloom
3) TRAINING PROGRAM IN BAMBOO-CRAFT
During the year 2011-2012 NEDS has provided training facilities to 36 nonliterate & new-literate people belonging to SC & ST communities in
bamboo-craft.
4) AWARENESS OF FISHERIES
To promote the fishermen for increasing the fish production in own land in
Silcorrie area .With the help of fisheries technician NEDS arrange work
shop with fishermen and provide the knowledge of knowhow of rapid
growth of fish.
5) AWARENESS OF YOGA CAMP
NEDS organised several Yoga training Camps at Cachar,
Karimganj and Hailakandi District of Barak Valley in Assam
under honorary technical assistance of the organization
6) TRADITIONAL CUTURAL PROGRAMME
To promote the fishermen for increasing the fish production in own land in
Silcorrie area .With the help of fisheries technician NEDS arrange work
shop with fishermen and provide the knowledge of knowhow of rapid
growth of fish.
7) EDUCATION AWARENESS PROGRAMME
NEDS organised several Yoga training Camps at Cachar,
